A total of 114 Palestinians returned to the Gaza Strip through the Rafah border crossing with Egypt and reunited with their families in the besieged enclave, Anadolu reports.
The Palestinians crossed the terminal late at night after Israel recently allowed limited pedestrian movement through Rafah, which it had shut during its genocidal war on Gaza launched in October 2023.
The returnees were received by their relatives at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, where emotional scenes unfolded after long months of separation.
The Rafah crossing, Gazaâs main gateway to the outside world through Egypt, has been operating under strict Israeli restrictions, with Palestinians seeking evacuation for medical treatment and those returning from Egypt trying to pass through in limited numbers.

Israel partially reopened the Palestinian side of the Rafah crossing on Feb. 2 after occupying it in May 2024, but movement has remained very limited and subject to tight restrictions. Anadolu reported that Israel later reopened the crossing on March 19 after a 20-day closure, again under restrictive conditions.
Rafah remains ânominally open,â while strict restrictions continue on the movement of patients and wounded Palestinians. Around 22,000 wounded and sick people in Gaza still need treatment abroad amid the collapse of the enclaveâs health system.
The UN humanitarian office said that between April 12 and 15, 103 patients and 190 caregivers were evacuated from Gaza through Rafah, while 292 Palestinian returnees re-entered the enclave via the same route.
Since October 2023, Israeli attacks on Gaza have killed at least 72,344 Palestinians, while hundreds more have been killed despite a ceasefire that came into effect on Oct. 10, 2025.
