2027: Ibadan opposition declaration was call for national liberation – Pat Utomi

A Professor of Political Economy, Pat Utomi, says the opposition declaration in Ibadan, Oyo State, about fielding one presidential candidate in the next year’s general elections was a call for national liberation.

Utomi made this statement on Sunday while fielding questions during an interview on Arise Television’s ‘Morning Show’.

He was speaking on the Saturday’s Opposition Summit held by leaders of the various opposition political parties in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Utomi, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, said, “Ibadan was an appropriate venue for the declaration by opposition politicians committing to rescue Nigerians in the face of creeping fascism, pressure toward a one-party state, and the shenanigans designed to disrupt multiparty democracy in this country.

“This meeting was symbolic — a demonstration that there are people willing to set aside their egos and personal ambitions so that Nigeria may prevail.”
