Chief Justice of Nigeria to Lead Abuja Conference on Judiciary’s Role in Strengthening Democracy

On Thursday, April 23, Hon. Kudirat Tomori Olatokunbo Kekere-Ekun, Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), would officially inaugurate the National Conference/Capacity Building of the National Association of Judiciary Correspondents (NAJUC), Abuja.

The CJN will be the keynote speaker and special guest of honor at the conference with the theme “The Role of the Judiciary In Deepening Democracy In Nigeria.”

Prince Lateef Olasunkanmi, the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice (AGF), is scheduled to attend the conference as a Special Guest at the Federal Ministry of Justice’s Olusegun Obasanjo Auditorium.

The distinguished guests will be hosted by Mr. Kayode Lawal of the DAILY POST, the Association’s Chairman.

Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN, President of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), is also scheduled to deliver a paper on “NJC as Watchdog of the Judiciary.”

According to a statement from the association’s secretary-general, Mr. Paschal Njoku, the crucial conference will begin at 10 a.m.

According to the release, distinguished academics and important stakeholders have been carefully chosen to offer lectures on a range of subjects at the event.

Every year, NAJUC organizes a capacity building/national conference to help members become more knowledgeable and proficient in carrying out their responsibilities.

As a result, the statement asked members to be on time and take their seats by 8 a.m.

It further said that all members must be present in order to attend the lecture and cover the event for their respective media outlets.

Prominent attorneys, judges, and media professionals are anticipated to attend.
