Tinubu Hails Veteran Broadcaster Moji Makanjoula at 70, Celebrates Legacy of Excellence

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended warm felicitations to veteran broadcaster Moji Makanjoula on the occasion of her 70th birthday, paying glowing tribute to her enduring contributions to journalism, public enlightenment, and national development.
In a statement issued on Wednesday ,by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President described Makanjoula as a distinguished media professional whose career has been defined by integrity, professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to truth.
President Tinubu noted that over the decades, the veteran broadcaster has remained a steadfast voice in the media industry, using the power of communication to promote ethical standards, inform the public, and contribute meaningfully to nation-building.
He particularly commended her impactful advocacy in the area of health communication, noting that her work has helped shape public awareness and discourse on critical societal issues.
“As a trailblazer and respected voice in journalism, you have inspired generations of broadcasters and media practitioners across the country,” the President stated.
Tinubu further highlighted Makanjoula’s role beyond the newsroom, describing her as a mentor whose influence has helped nurture younger professionals and strengthen the foundations of responsible journalism in Nigeria.
“I commend your mentorship and service beyond the newsroom, which have left an indelible mark on the profession and the nation at large,” he added.
The President emphasised that her legacy reflects the vital role of the media as a pillar of democracy and a driver of accountability, transparency, and informed citizen engagement.
He concluded by wishing the celebrant continued good health, longevity, and more years of impactful service to Nigeria and humanity.
