A senatorial aspirant of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) for the Nasarawa North Senatorial District, Hon. Duba Ishaya Dodo, says the party is prepared to offer what he described as people-focused leadership ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Dodo spoke on Friday after the North Central stakeholders’ interactive meeting of the NDC held in Lafia. The aspirant said he joined the party because he believed in its prospects before the recent influx of prominent political figures into the platform.
According to him, the NDC has continued to gain acceptance across the country and is positioning itself as an alternative political platform. Speaking on his ambition to represent Nasarawa North in the Senate, Dodo said he possesses the experience and capacity required to provide effective representation.
He stated that the party’s “Service to the People” slogan reflects its focus on governance policies aimed at improving citizens’ welfare. Dodo also urged voters not to sell their votes during elections and encouraged Nigerians to support leaders they believe can address the country’s challenges.
Referencing comments by Peter Obi, he said Nigeria requires reforms and accountable leadership to improve governance and economic conditions. The NDC aspirant further called on citizens to embrace new political ideas and participate actively in the democratic process ahead of the 2027 elections.
