Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for Kaduna State in the 2027 general election after receiving 459,393 affirmation votes at the party’s primary held on Thursday.

Sani, who was the sole aspirant, received endorsement from delegates and stakeholders across the state’s 23 local government areas. Party leaders described the outcome as a vote of confidence in his leadership and performance.

The exercise, monitored by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), drew top APC officials, elected representatives, and supporters to the venue.

Chairman of the Kaduna APC Governorship and House of Assembly Primary Election Committee, Hon. Hafiz Ibrahim Kawu, said the process was peaceful, transparent, and reflected growing unity within the party ahead of 2027.

The affirmation motion was moved by the Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Yusuf Liman, and unanimously endorsed by delegates amid chants from supporters.

Speaking after the announcement, Governor Sani thanked party members and residents for what he described as an overwhelming show of trust.

“We have made significant progress in restoring peace, strengthening unity and expanding development across Kaduna State through dialogue, inclusion and people-oriented policies,” he said.

He added that his administration would consolidate existing gains and intensify efforts toward building a more peaceful, prosperous, and economically vibrant state.
