Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has called on residents to uphold the values of sacrifice, love, peace, and compassion as Muslims celebrate Eid-el-Kabir. Speaking after observing the Eid prayer on Tuesday, Ododo urged citizens to support vulnerable members of society and pray for Nigeria and its leaders.
According to the governor, Eid-el-Kabir promotes selflessness and care for others.“Let us support the needy and continue to pray for our nation, Mr President, and all leaders for wisdom and divine guidance,” he said.
Ododo also commended Bola Ahmed Tinubu, security agencies, and Kogi residents for their cooperation in maintaining security across the state. He described security as a continuous responsibility and pledged his administration’s commitment to sustaining peace and safety. On efforts to improve the state’s image, the governor said Kogi’s transformation was the result of deliberate governance and positive engagement by residents.
He highlighted the state’s potential in agriculture, solid minerals, culture, and tourism, adding that the administration is focused on attracting investment and development. “We are determined to project our strengths and create an image that will attract development. Investors will come because Kogi State is safe,” Ododo said.
