The Afro-Asian Community Initiative for Development (AACID) has joined millions of Indians and friends of India across the world in congratulating Shri Narendra Modi as India’s longest-serving democratically-elected Prime Minister.
Sanjay Srivastava, President, AACID, and Founder, Overseas Friends of Bharatiya Janata Party (OFBJP), Nigeria chapter, in a statement made available to journalists on Thursday, said that “On June 10, 2026, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, completed 4,399 consecutive days in office, surpassing the record of 4,398 days held by India’s first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, following India’s first general elections.”
He noted that the milestone marks a significant chapter in the history of the world’s largest democracy.
According to Sanjay: “Modi’s historic achievement reflects the enduring strength of democracy and the trust placed in leadership through the electoral process. His journey from humble beginnings to becoming the longest-serving democratically-elected Prime Minister of India is a source of inspiration for millions around the world.”
While congratulating the PM, Sanjay said: “On behalf of the Afro-Asian Community Initiative for Development, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Prime Minister Modi on this remarkable milestone. We also look forward to deeper cooperation between India and Nigeria in trade, investment, education, technology, healthcare, entrepreneurship, and community development.”
Also in his statement, Pravin Kumar,
Founder, General Secretary of OFBJP Nigeria chapter and the In-coming President, AACID, said: “India and Nigeria are natural partners with immense potential for collaboration. Prime Minister Modi’s leadership has helped position India as a major global economic and technological force. We hope this new chapter will further strengthen ties between Africa and Asia, particularly in innovation, youth empowerment, skills development, business cooperation, and sustainable development.”
Kumar reaffirmed AACID’s commitment to building bridges of friendship, commerce, and cultural understanding between the people of India, Nigeria, and the wider Afro-Asian region.”
Also hailing the PM on the historic democratic achievement, the duo stated: “As Prime Minister Narendra Modi enters another historic phase of public service, this milestone offers an opportunity to celebrate not only democratic continuity but also the growing partnership between India and Africa.
“The Afro-Asian Community Initiative for Development believes that stronger cooperation between India and Nigeria will contribute to economic growth, innovation, and shared prosperity for generations to come.”
AACID, also known as the Afro Asian Business Community, said that Modi, who was “First elected in May 2014, has now secured three consecutive mandates from the people of India, reflecting sustained public confidence in his leadership and vision for national development.”
According to AACID: “Over the past 12 years, India has witnessed major transformations in digital governance, financial inclusion, infrastructure development, manufacturing, entrepreneurship, and global engagement. Initiatives such as Digital India, Startup India, the expansion of digital payments through UPI, large-scale infrastructure projects, and welfare delivery reforms have contributed to India’s emergence as one of the world’s fastest-growing major economies.”
“The achievement is not merely a political record; it is also a reflection of the strength and continuity of democratic institutions in India. In an era of rapidly changing political landscapes across the world, Prime Minister Modi’s uninterrupted tenure stands as a remarkable example of electoral success and democratic legitimacy,” AACID added.
On India-Nigeria Relations: Growing Opportunities, AACID said: “For Nigeria, India’s growth story carries special significance. India and Nigeria enjoy a long-standing relationship built on trade, investment, education, healthcare, technology, and people-to-people connections. Thousands of Nigerians have studied in India, while Indian companies continue to contribute to Nigeria’s economy through investments in manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, energy, ICT, and consumer industries.”
As both nations continue to strengthen bilateral engagement, AACID said that “there are tremendous opportunities for collaboration in digital innovation, healthcare, renewable energy, youth entrepreneurship, skills development, agriculture, and small business growth. Stronger India–Nigeria partnerships can create new opportunities for prosperity and sustainable development for both countries.”
