In heartfelt remarks that underscored the power of mentorship and local support, Engr. Abduljelyl Adekunle Karheem MCIArb, MCIOB, MCABE, the CEO of Afia Group and the Mogaji of Adanla family of Ibadan, dedicated his recent Al Basar International Foundation Special Recognition Award to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, describing the monarch as a great visionary father figure.
The dedication, made during a celebratory event, highlighted the pivotal role the revered monarch played in Adanla’s entrepreneurial journey.
“Without the Olubadan who saw the dream, I would still be managing in London,” Adanla remarked, his voice filled with gratitude.
He emphasised that the Olubadan’s early belief and encouragement were instrumental in his decision to return to Nigeria and establish Afia Group, a venture that has since grown to become a significant player in the nation’s economy.
