The Association for Formidable Educational Development (AFED), Edo State Chapter, has inaugurated its newly elected local government officials, with a charge on members to remain united in advancing quality education across the state.
Speaking at the association’s first state congress and inauguration ceremony, the State Controller, Oladele Ogundele, pledged transparent and accountable leadership.
He also committed to stronger grassroots mobilisation and chapter development, improved stakeholder engagement and educational advocacy, enhanced conduct of AFED programmes, and strengthened the AFED Economic Cooperative Society.
Ogundele assured members that during his administration, there will be a more responsive welfare system for members, leadership development and capacity building, digital transformation and administrative efficiency, and increased visibility and recognition of AFED across Edo State and beyond.
He commended the immediate past executives for their commitment and sacrifices, assuring members that the new leadership would build on their achievements.
“I wish to sincerely appreciate the immediate past administration and all those who have served AFED in various capacities over the years. Their sacrifices, contributions, and commitment have helped to build the solid foundation upon which we stand today. We are committed to building on these achievements while exploring new opportunities for growth and development.
Ogundele charged the new executive to increase AFED’s visibility in Edo State, work closely with the government to promote quality education, and ensure the association becomes a strong force in educational development, while urging members to work together in the spirit of unity and professionalism.
“AFED Edo State Chapter remains committed to promoting quality education, professional excellence, ethical standards, and the advancement of private educational institutions across the State.
“As an Association, we shall continue to collaborate with government agencies, educational stakeholders, development partners, and the wider community in pursuit of educational excellence and national development.
“Under this administration, we shall work tirelessly to ensure that AFED Edo State becomes a stronger voice in educational advocacy, policy engagement, capacity development, and school improvement initiatives.
“We believe that education remains one of the most powerful tools for societal transformation, and AFED will continue to contribute meaningfully to that noble cause”.
Some of the chairmen who spoke to newsmen, Pastor Emmanuel Omoyeni (Ikpoba-Okha), and Jane Aigbe (Oredo LGA) expressed appreciation to members for the confidence reposed in them and pledged to work together to contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of the association.
AFED is an association committed to promoting quality education through advocacy, capacity building, educational support programmes and collaboration with relevant stakeholders to improve learning outcomes in communities across Edo State.
