APM Oyo South Senatorial Candidate, Olajide Felicitates Fathers, Says They Are Social Capital Sustaining Families, Society

Oyo south senatorial candidate of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM), and member representing Ibadan North-west/Ibadan South-west federal constituency of Oyo state in the House of Representatives, Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Stanley Olajide, has felicitated fathers across Nigeria on the occasion of this year’s Father’s Day celebration, describing them as the social capital sustaining families, communities and society at large.

Olajide made this known in a Father’s Day message made available to journalists on sunday through his Special Adviser, Media and Public Affairs, Tolu Mustapha.

The federal lawmaker noted that fathers occupy a unique position in the family structure as providers, mentors, protectors and custodians of values, whose sacrifices often form the foundation upon which stable homes and prosperous societies are built.

According to him, while the contributions of fathers may not always receive adequate recognition, their commitment and sense of responsibility continue to play a critical role in shaping future generations and sustaining social order.

He described fathers as invaluable repositories of social capital whose influence extends beyond their immediate families to their communities, workplaces, religious institutions and the larger society.
“Across homes, communities and nations, fathers continue to provide leadership, guidance, support and stability. Their sacrifices, counsel, experience and commitment to family values constitute a form of social capital that sustains society and contributes immensely to national development,” he stated.

Olajide observed that strong families remain the bedrock of every successful society, stressing that the role of responsible fathers in nurturing discipline, integrity, hard work and respect for societal values cannot be overstated.

He further noted that the demands and challenges confronting fathers in contemporary society have continued to evolve, requiring greater commitment, adaptability and emotional support to effectively fulfil their responsibilities.

The federal lawmaker expressed appreciation to fathers across Ibadan North-west/Ibadan South-west federal constituency and Oyo south senatorial district for their contributions to community development, peace and social progress.

He prayed for renewed strength, good health, wisdom and divine guidance for fathers as they continue to discharge their responsibilities towards their families and society.
“On this special occasion of Father’s Day, I celebrate all fathers and father figures whose sacrifices continue to shape lives, strengthen families and build stronger communities. May your labour never be in vain and may you continue to reap the rewards of your sacrifices,” the statement read.
