KANO — The Minister of First Baptist Church, Kano, Reverend (Dr.) Armstrong Ajayi, on Sunday called on Nigerians to intensify prayers for the safe release of schoolchildren and teachers recently abducted in Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
The abduction of the schoolchildren and teachers in Orire Local Government Area has continued to generate concern among residents and stakeholders, with growing calls for urgent action to secure their release.
Speaking during a Sunday service in Kano, the cleric urged citizens not to despair over the country’s security challenges, stressing that God remains capable of intervening in even the most difficult situations.
Rev. Armstrong Ajayi said that no individual is beyond the reach of divine power, expressing confidence that the kidnapped victims can be rescued safely through God’s intervention.
Ajayi who drew lessons from the biblical account of Peter’s miraculous release said : “When Peter was put into prison, he might have thought he would die there. But through the prayers of the church, God sent an angel who led him out of prison and made him a free man,”
The cleric also cited the story of the fall of Jericho, describing prayer, faith and unwavering hope in God as powerful tools for overcoming seemingly impossible circumstances.
Ajayi therefore offered special prayers for the abducted pupils and their teachers, asking God to preserve their lives, comfort their families and grant them a safe return from captivity.
He further appealed to Nigerians to support security agencies with credible and timely information that could help combat criminal activities and improve public safety.
