Popular comedian and former Big Brother Naija housemate, Aderombi Adedayo Martins, widely known as DeeOne, has emerged as the Lagos State House of Assembly candidate for Ibeju-Lekki Constituency I ahead of the 2027 general election.

DeeOne secured the nomination of the BOOT Party after emerging victorious in the party’s primary election, positioning him for a shot at legislative office in the next electoral cycle.

The entertainer announced his emergence via a post on his Instagram page on Wednesday night, expressing his appreciation to party members for entrusting him with the ticket.

In his message, DeeOne thanked party supporters for their confidence and pledged to represent constituents’ interests if elected.

“I want to thank my party, BOOT Party, for the confidence in voting for me to emerge winner of the primary election for Ibeju-Lekki Constituency I,” he wrote.

Addressing residents of the constituency, the comedian promised a people-oriented approach to leadership, stressing that public service would be his priority.

“To Ibeju-Lekki Constituency, I, come 2027, by the grace of God, I will be your worker and not your boss,” he stated.

His nomination marks another instance of a Nigerian entertainer venturing into active politics as preparations gradually gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The race for seats in the Lagos State House of Assembly is expected to generate significant attention as political parties begin positioning themselves for the next round of elections.
