Thousands Converge In Okpolo (Enhwe) As High Chief Egukawhore Bids Farewell To Beloved Sister

Saturday 20th June 2026 will remain a date never to be forgotten as a Notable son and an Esteemed Leader of Niger Delta, High Chief Emonena Victor Wayles Egukawhore JP, FCILG, Chairman, Dewayles Group of Companies laid his eldest sister Madam Patience Igho Egukawhore to rest.

Joining the reverend leader, was the Executive Governor of Bayelsa State, His Excellency Senator Douye Diri, wife of the Delta State Governor, Mrs Tobore Oborevwori, Top Government Officials across the nation came from far and near.

The ceremony had in attendance the Hon Minister of State for Petroleum, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri; the representatives of the Delzta State Governor, Chief Solomon Areyinka, Delta State APC Chairman; Rt. Hon Chief Solomon Funkekemen, Senior Policy Adviser to the Governor; Chief Solomon Ighrakpata, Chairman, Delta State Board of Internal Revenue and Dr Isaac Tosan Wilkie, Hon Commissioner for Water Resources.

Also present at the ceremony were notable captains of industry amongst whom were High Chief Tunde Smooth, Chairman, Smooth Tuns Nigeria Limited; Evang Chief Johnbull Ejovi, MD/CEO, Ejovi Offshore Limited; High Chief Eta Enahoro, GMD Skyward Resources Limited.

Members of the Delta and Bayelsa States House of Assembly, Civil Commissioners, Local Government Council Chairmen across the country, reverend Clergymen, respected traditional rulers, chiefs of Okpolo (Enhwe), Igbide, Olomoro, Irri, Patani and many others too nemerous to mention.

The Late Madam Patience Igho Egukawhore is survived by a son, brothers, sisters, uncles, aunties, cousins, nieces and nephews. She died at the age of 67.
