The Director-General of the Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communications, Dr. (Barr.) Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe has congratulated Senator Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, Senator Ede Dafinone, and Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas on their emphatic victories at the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primaries for Delta North, Delta Central, and Delta South Senatorial Districts, respectively.
In a congratulatory message made available to newsmen in Asaba on Wednesday, Dr. Oghenesivbe described the victories as a clear demonstration of the confidence reposed in the three distinguished leaders by party members across the state. He noted that their emergence has further strengthened the foundation for a productive and harmonious working relationship with the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to him, Delta State is today witnessing an unprecedented level of political cohesion and stability within the APC, with Governor Oborevwori providing visionary leadership that has united stakeholders across the three senatorial districts under a common developmental agenda.
The Bureau DG observed that the combined experience, influence, and public service records of Senators Okowa, Dafinone, and Joel-Onowakpo place Delta State in a strong position to attract greater federal presence, strategic investments, and people-oriented projects.
He noted that Senator Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa brings to the table a rich legacy of public service, having served as Commissioner, Secretary to the State Government, Senator of the Federal Republic, and Governor of Delta State. His contributions to infrastructure development, healthcare delivery, education, and human capital development have left enduring footprints across the state.
Dr. Oghenesivbe also commended Senator Ede Dafinone for his distinguished professional and legislative career. He described the Delta Central lawmaker as a respected chartered accountant and committed legislator whose interventions in national development, economic reforms, and infrastructure advocacy have enhanced the quality of representation for his constituents. He further praised Dafinone’s steadfast loyalty to the APC and his commitment to strengthening the party’s structures in Delta Central.
Similarly, he applauded Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas for his outstanding service in public finance administration and legislative representation. As former Executive Chairman of the Delta State Board of Internal Revenue, Joel-Onowakpo played a significant role in strengthening the state’s internally generated revenue framework. In the Senate, he has championed impactful bills and constituency development initiatives while remaining a loyal and dependable party leader in Delta South.
The Bureau DG emphasized that beyond their individual achievements, the three senators share a common commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the MORE Agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori. He expressed confidence that their collaboration with the governor would deepen the delivery of democratic dividends and accelerate the state’s development trajectory.
“Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has successfully built one of the most united, peaceful, and politically stable APC states in Nigeria. The emergence of Senators Okowa, Dafinone, and Joel-Onowakpo further consolidates that unity and provides a unique opportunity for stronger coordination between the executive and legislative arms of government for the benefit of all Deltans,” he said.
Dr. Oghenesivbe stressed that effective collaboration among the governor and the three senators would translate into increased federal projects, improved infrastructure, enhanced youth and women empowerment programmes, greater economic opportunities, stronger security partnerships, and accelerated socio-economic development across Delta North, Delta Central, and Delta South.
He further noted that when experienced leaders work together with mutual respect and a shared vision, the greatest beneficiaries are the people. According to him, Delta State stands to gain immensely from a united APC leadership structure anchored on Governor Oborevwori’s inclusive leadership and supported by the legislative strength and experience of the three senators.
The Bureau DG commended Governor Oborevwori for his statesmanship, prudent management of state resources, and effective coordination of party affairs, which have continued to attract broad-based support and expand the APC family across the state.
He called on party faithful and all Deltans to continue supporting the governor and other elected leaders, while praying for divine wisdom and guidance as they work together to advance peace, unity, sustainable development, and prosperity in Delta State.
