Democracy Day: NSCDC Deploys 1,500 Personnel In Kaduna

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kaduna State Command, has deployed 1,500 personnel to ensure a peaceful and secure 2026 Democracy Day celebration.

The state commandant, Panam Musa Buba, said the personnel would provide security at Murtala Square, Centenary Park, major junctions, public gathering centres and other critical locations.

He directed area commanders and divisional officers to ensure effective security coverage and heightened vigilance against criminal elements.

The statement issued by state command’s spokesperson, Habeeb Badamasi, said the deployment comprised 120 senior officers and 1,380 rank-and-file personnel.

The statement noted that intelligence gathering and surveillance have also been intensified, while Operation Fushin Kada has been directed to strengthen highway patrols across the state, “The NSCDC will work in collaboration with other security agencies to maintain law and order”

Panam urged personnel to remain professional, disciplined, and respectful of citizens’ rights throughout the operation.

“The operation commences at 0630hrs on June 12, 2026, with DCC Abdullahi Karfi Umar serving as Ground Commander, while CC Panam Musa Buba is the Overall Commander” the statement added.

The Command assured residents of adequate security and urged them to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to security agencies.
