Family, friends bid Joseph Amokeodo farewell at 80‎‎

‎Family members, friends and associates on Wednesday paid their last respects to renowned businessman and community leader, Joseph Olusanu Amokeodo, who died on June 14 at the age of 80.

‎Popularly known as “Brother Joe,” the Ilesa, Osun State-born octogenarian was honoured during a series of funeral activities held in Lagos.

‎The rites commenced on Tuesday with a Christian wake at his Ogudu residence, attended by relatives and well-wishers who celebrated his life and contributions to society.

‎At the funeral Mass held on Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Ojota, the officiating Catholic priest urged worshippers to embrace the fear of God and extend love and kindness to others.

‎The late Amokeodo was later laid to rest at his residence in Iju, Lagos, while guests were hosted to a reception at his Ogudu home.

‎He is survived by his children, grandchildren, brothers, sisters and other members of the extended family.
