Governor Oborevwori Inaugurates 18km of Roads in Ndokwa West, Highlights Infrastructure Agenda

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, on Wednesday inaugurated three road projects totaling approximately 18 kilometres in Ndokwa West Local Government Area, underscoring his administration’s commitment to infrastructure development.

The governor also reiterated support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid.The projects include the 4.5-kilometre Obi-Ibabu/Ibabu Road in Onicha-Ukwuani, Phase One of the 5-kilometre Utagba-Uno/Ndemili Road, and the 8.4-kilometre Etua-Ukpo/Etua-Etiti/Etua-Oliogo Road

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony in Utagba-Uno, Oborevwori thanked residents, traditional rulers, community leaders, and other stakeholders for their support. He said the roads would improve connectivity, facilitate trade, reduce transportation costs, and support economic growth across Ndokwa communities.The governor noted that the Utagba-Uno/Ndemili Road was designed as a phased project and directed the Ministry of Works to ensure ongoing road projects are completed before the end of the year.

Oborevwori also disclosed that work is progressing on several infrastructure projects in Ndokwa Nation, including the Emu-Ebendo-Iyasele-Ashaka Road, the access road to the Kwale Industrial Park, Emu-Beneku Road, Ogbedigbo-Afor Road, and Timber Road to Waterside in Obiaruku.

Addressing electricity challenges in the area, he said the state government had approved the rehabilitation of power infrastructure and urged residents to protect public assets from vandalism. Earlier, Deputy Governor Sir Monday Onyeme and Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Charles Aniagwu, said the projects would improve transportation and economic activities in the affected communities.
