Nollywood actor Emmanuel Obasi, the ex-husband of actress Judy Austin, has responded to Yul Edochie following the actor’s denial of allegations that he interfered in his access to his children.
His reaction came shortly after Yul Edochie dismissed Obasi’s claims and advised him to resolve his family issues privately rather than discussing them publicly.
Yul had maintained that he does not prevent anyone from seeing their children, accusing Obasi of seeking attention online and using his name for publicity instead of addressing the matter directly. He also suggested that Obasi should speak with Judy Austin, noting that she is the appropriate person to contact regarding the issue.
In response, Obasi took to Facebook on June 19 to share his side of the story, insisting that he has made repeated attempts to reconnect with his children without success.
He acknowledged Yul Edochie’s status but maintained that his efforts had been frustrated. “Chief Yul Edochie, one thing for sure Edochie is a big name beyond Igbo land no doubt, but you can not beat a child and ask him not to cry,” he wrote.
Obasi further claimed that he tried to reach out and issue warnings but was ignored, alleging that Judy Austin blocked all forms of communication. “My aim is not to ridicule anyone, I reached out and warned but was ignored. She block all my access to her,” he added.
He also expressed concern that his children are now adults and deserve to know the truth while having the freedom to reach out to him.
“My kids are now adults let her tell them the truth and allow them reach out to me,” he stated.
Appealing directly to Yul Edochie, Obasi urged him to intervene and help mend the strained relationship between him and his children. “Chief Yul Edochie, if truly you are in charge as head of the house help in building that bridge,” he added.
