Ododo Congratulates Oyebanji on Ekiti Governorship Re-Election

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has congratulated Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji on his re-election following the 2026 governorship election in the state.In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Ismaila Isah, Governor Ododo described Oyebanji’s victory as an endorsement of his administration’s performance and governance approach.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Oyebanji winner of the election after he secured a second term in office. According to Ododo, the election outcome reflects the confidence of voters in Oyebanji’s leadership and the policies implemented by his administration.
He commended the Ekiti governor for what he described as people-focused governance, infrastructure development and prudent management of public resources.“The people of Ekiti State have spoken through the ballot and renewed their mandate for Governor Oyebanji,” Ododo said, expressing confidence that the governor’s new term would build on achievements recorded in infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture and economic development. The Kogi governor also said the result demonstrates continued support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
Ododo wished Oyebanji success in his second term and reaffirmed the commitment of Kogi and Ekiti states to sustained cooperation and partnership for regional development.Oyebanji was declared re-elected by INEC after winning the June 2026 governorship election in Ekiti State.
