Police Rescue Security Guard After Shooting Attack In Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command has commenced an investigation into an attempted murder case following the shooting of a security guard in the Egan-Igando area of the Alimosho Local Government Area of the state.

Police sources said the incident was reported at the Igando Division at about 0145 hours on June 22 by Edbor Oscar, a resident of Epetedo Street, Ogungule, Egan-Igando.

According to the report, the victim, identified simply as Tosin, a 41-year-old security guard, was attacked at about 0100 hours by four unidentified armed men riding an unregistered motorcycle.

The assailants reportedly shot the victim in the right leg and back before fleeing the scene.

The injuries sustained during the attack rendered the victim unconscious.

Following the report, a team of police detectives visited the scene and immediately evacuated the victim to Olasunkanmi Private Hospital in Igando for urgent medical attention.

Police authorities said the victim was responding to treatment.

The command added that efforts were ongoing to track down and arrest the fleeing suspects, while the investigation into the incident continues.
