Senator Lalong Congratulates Justice Alaku Mari on Installation as Aren Eggon

Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District, Simon Bako Lalong, has congratulated Justice Ahmed Ubangari Alaku Mari on his formal installation as the Aren Eggon, the paramount traditional ruler of the Eggon Nation in Nasarawa State.
In a statement, Lalong described the installation as a significant milestone for the Eggon people and the North-Central region, noting that Justice Alaku Mari’s emergence reflects his longstanding record of service, leadership and integrity. The senator said the new monarch distinguished himself during his judicial career, rising from magistrate to Chief Judge of Nasarawa State, where he earned respect for his commitment to fairness, diligence and the rule of law.
Lalong also highlighted the monarch’s previous role as Wazirin Eggon, saying his contributions to the traditional institution and the unity of the Eggon people prepared him for the responsibilities of the throne. He commended the kingmakers and the Eggon Traditional Council for selecting a leader with extensive experience in public service, conflict resolution and community development.
According to Lalong, the new Aren Eggon’s leadership is expected to promote peace, cultural preservation and socio-economic development within the Eggon Nation and beyond. The former Plateau State governor expressed confidence that the reign of Justice Alaku Mari would be marked by unity, stability and progress. He also wished the monarch good health, wisdom and a successful reign in service to the Eggon people.
