The former governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, has expressed sadness over the attacks by bandits against the Dangulbi community in the Tureta Local Government Area of the state.
The former lawmaker, however, called law enforcement agencies to do more to avert future attacks against innocent people.
He made the call on his verified X account on Wednesday, 3rd June 2026, as he said that it is unacceptable and the attacks are an assault on the peace and security of the community.
He wrote,”I am deeply saddened and heartbroken by the recent bandit attacks on Dangulbi community in Tureta Local Government Area of Sokoto State, which claimed innocent lives, destroyed property, and displaced families.
“These repeated attacks on innocent citizens are painful, unacceptable, and a direct assault on the peace and security of our communities. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of those who lost their loved ones, those injured, and all residents affected by this tragic incident.
“I pray that Almighty Allah (SWT) forgives the shortcomings of the deceased, grants them Aljannatul Firdausi, gives their families the strength and patience to bear these painful losses, and grants quick recovery to those injured.
“I also pray for the safe return of all those abducted. I call on security agencies to intensify efforts towards restoring peace and strengthening protection for vulnerable communities across the Sokoto-Zamfara axis.
“Our people deserve to live in safety and pursue their livelihoods without fear. We must remain united and resolute in supporting every genuine effort aimed at ending banditry and restoring lasting peace to our communities. – AWT.”
