TCN is conducting an anti-vandalism sensitisation campaign in Lambata Community, Gurara LGA, Niger State, to curb vandalism of transmission infrastructure and buildings under transmission lines’ right-of-way.
The campaign aims to protect installations and enhance a reliable bulk electricity supply nationwide. Speaking at the ongoing sensitisation programme, the GM Transmission, Abuja Region, Engr. Musa Shuaibu said vandalism diverts resources meant for network expansion and can be fatal, as vandals are sometimes electrocuted.
The campaign drew stakeholders, including the Police, NSCDC, Vigilante Corps, FRSC, NISTMA, traditional rulers, and community leaders. TCN called on residents to report suspicious activities around power installations and stop building under transmission lines for their safety and improved power supply.
