Troops Discover Large Quantity  Of Suspected Illegally Refined Products in Rivers

Troops of the Joint Task Force, South-South, Operation Delta Safe (OPDS), have discovered significant quantities of suspected illegally refined petroleum products in Rivers State.

A military source said the discovery was made at about 9:45 a.m. on June 13 by troops of LCST MST 1 and 2 during an anti-illegal bunkering operation at Okarki water site in Ahoada East Local Government Area.

The source disclosed that troops recovered about 2,350 litres of suspected illegally refined Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) and 1,650 litres of suspected illegally refined Dual Purpose Kerosene (DPK).

According to the source, the recovered products were handled in line with established Operation Delta Safe (OPDS) directives. The operation is part of ongoing efforts to curb crude oil theft, illegal refining, and other forms of economic sabotage in the Niger Delta region.
