Turkish Labour and Social Security Minister Vedat Işıkhan met his Sudanese counterpart, Mutasim Ahmed Saleh Adam, on Wednesday to discuss strengthening cooperation in labour affairs, professional development and social security, Anadolu agency reported.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 114th session of the International Labour Conference in Geneva.
According to the Turkish Ministry of Labour and Social Security, the two ministers reviewed ways to expand cooperation between their countries in labour and employment issues and explored opportunities to deepen collaboration in social protection and social security systems.
The talks formed part of a series of bilateral meetings being held by Işıkhan during the conference, as Turkey seeks to broaden cooperation and exchange expertise with participating countries.
The International Labour Conference, organised annually by the International Labour Organisation, brings together government representatives, employers and workers from around the world to discuss labour standards, employment policies and social protection issues.
