The Zamfara State Government has suspended the Rector of Abdu Gusau Polytechnic, Dr. Sirajo Shinkafi, over allegations of misconduct and insubordination.
The suspension, which takes immediate effect, was announced on Monday in a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Abubakar Nakwada.
According to the statement, the decision was taken to ensure the smooth running of academic and administrative activities at the institution while relevant issues are addressed.
“The Government assures the Polytechnic community and the general public that measures have been put in place to ensure the uninterrupted administration of the institution,” the statement said.
Authorities did not provide further details on the allegations against the rector.
Efforts to obtain a response from Dr. Shinkafi were unsuccessful, as his phone line could not be reached at the time of filing the report.
