Support for the emergence of Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KadIRS) Chairman, Jerry Adams, as the running mate to Governor Uba Sani in the 2027 governorship election is gaining momentum in Southern Kaduna, according to public affairs analyst Victor Mathew Bobai.
In a commentary, Bobai, an APC stakeholder, said the reported support for Adams reflected what he described as grassroots admiration for his leadership style, accessibility and commitment to public service. He described Adams as an experienced administrator and grassroots mobiliser, citing digital innovation, improved tax administration and stakeholder engagement as some of the developments he attributed to his leadership at KadIRS.
Bobai also said Adams had demonstrated interest in youth development, community empowerment and inclusive governance, adding that his accessibility had earned him support in parts of the state. He further highlighted Adams’ relationship with Governor Sani, describing it as one built on trust and shared values. While acknowledging that the selection of a running mate would be determined through party processes and consultations, Bobai urged APC leaders to consider public acceptance in making strategic decisions ahead of the 2027 elections.
He said Southern Kaduna remained an important political constituency and argued that a deputy governorship candidate with broad acceptance could strengthen party unity. Bobai, however, noted that the final decision on the running mate would rest with Governor Sani and the APC leadership.
