Abiodun Hails Tinubu Over Daring Rescue of Oyo Kidnap Victims, Says No Safe Haven for Criminals

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the successful rescue of victims abducted in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, describing the operation as a bold demonstration of the Federal Government’s renewed determination to stamp out insecurity across the country.
In a statement, Governor Abiodun said the safe rescue of the victims without harm validates President Tinubu’s firm assurance that no effort would be spared in securing their release and ensuring justice is served.
He noted that the operation, which led to the arrest of some of the kidnappers and the neutralisation of others, sends a clear and uncompromising message that Nigeria is fast becoming a hostile ground for kidnappers, bandits, terrorists and other violent criminals.
“This operation underscores a new reality under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership—there will be no hiding place for criminal elements. Those who engage in kidnapping, banditry and violent crimes will be relentlessly pursued, captured or neutralised in line with the law,” Abiodun declared.
The governor commended the gallantry, professionalism and bravery of the security agencies involved, praising the Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), local intelligence operatives and other personnel for their coordinated efforts and unwavering commitment to protecting innocent Nigerians.
Abiodun also applauded Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for his close collaboration with the Federal Government and security agencies throughout the period of the victims’ captivity, noting that the synergy among stakeholders was pivotal to the success of the operation.
According to him, the outcome of the rescue mission further reinforces the effectiveness of the evolving security architecture being driven by the Federal Government in partnership with subnational governments and security institutions.
He urged Nigerians to maintain confidence in the nation’s security agencies and support ongoing efforts by volunteering credible intelligence capable of preventing criminal activities.
Reaffirming Ogun State’s commitment to regional security, Abiodun stressed the importance of sustained collaboration with neighbouring states and federal authorities to ensure that the Southwest remains impenetrable to criminal elements.
He congratulated President Tinubu, Governor Makinde, the leadership of the nation’s security agencies and all officers involved in the operation, expressing optimism that the success will further strengthen efforts to make Nigeria safer for law-abiding citizens while tightening the noose on criminal networks.
