The 16th edition of the African Achievers Awards (AAA) brought together global leaders, diplomats, policymakers, innovators and business executives in London to celebrate African excellence, leadership and international collaboration.
The event featured a high-level Leadership, Trade and Investment Roundtable at the House of Lords, hosted by Baroness Verma, Member of the House of Lords and Chancellor of Roehampton University, UK. The roundtable brought together key stakeholders to explore opportunities for economic cooperation, sustainable development and strategic investment across Africa and the diaspora.
The programme culminated in an Awards Gala Dinner hosted by Lord Simon Woolley, Life Peer and Lord Temporal in the House of Lords and Principal of Homerton College, University of Cambridge, alongside Dr. Yvonne Thompson CBE, Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London.
The gala honoured exceptional individuals and organisations whose work has continued to drive transformative impact across sectors and communities.
Among those recognised were Rt. Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, Secretary-General of the Commonwealth; Vanessa Kingori, former Managing Director of Technology, Media and Telecommunications at Google; Aisha Maina, Managing Director of Aquarian Consult; Sarah Fafa Kpodo, Chief State Attorney at Ghana’s Office of the Attorney-General and Ministry of Justice; Hon. Michael Ayuen Johnson Chuti, Member of Parliament of South Sudan; Elsie Appau-Klu, Technical Advisor to the Ghana Revenue Authority; Jane Frances Acilo of Uganda; and several other distinguished changemakers honoured for their contributions to leadership, innovation, governance and social development.
Speaking on the significance of the event, Dr. Tonye Rex Idaminabo, said the African Achievers Awards has continued to serve as a global platform dedicated to promoting African excellence, service, courage, leadership and hope.
He said the awards also seek to strengthen cross-border partnerships while advancing sustainable development across Africa and its global diaspora.
As the 16th edition concluded, the organisers reaffirmed the awards’ mission of celebrating impact-driven leadership and inspiring a new generation of changemakers shaping Africa’s future on the global stage.
