Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, chairman of Conference 57, the Forum of Executive Chairmen of all 57 Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas in Lagos State, on Tuesday, appealed to Lagos residents to ensure they collect their Permanent Voters Card (PVC) and exercise their civic responsibility in the 2027 general elections.
Olowa, who represented the Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, at a strategic PVC Sensitisation and Community Engagement exercise held in Epe Division of the state, said they would join forces with the Lagos State Baales Forum, organisers of the programme, to mobilise residents of the state and ensure they vote for the Lagos State All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Dr. Hamzat and President Bola Tinubu to continue in office because of the achievements recorded so far.
On behalf of the chairmen, Olowa donated a luxury bus to the Epe Divisional Baales, saying the vehicle will enhance the administrative logistics of local traditional rulers.
The leaders, who spoke at the sensitization programme, urged residents to collect and secure their PVCs, saying that strategic community engagement sessions would help to address local development priorities.
In his address at the event, Convener of the Lagos State Baales’ Forum, Dr. Seyi Bamigbade commended the presidency for its ongoing support of local leadership structures.
According to Bamigbade: “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has demonstrated a profound commitment to the development of our communities across Nigeria.”
He emphasized that strengthening the mobility of traditional rulers directly empowers them to foster peace, unity, and development within their respective domains.
Bamigbade noted that the donation reinforces the Lagos State government’s ongoing alliance with traditional institutions to ensure governance impacts in various parts of the state.
