The campus of Ekiti State University, EKSU, came alive as Adepoju Adeleye, a 200-level student of the Political Science Education Department, emerged the star attraction of the grand finale of the three-day MTN Pulse Campus Invasion after winning a brand-new car in a raffle draw.
The MTN Pulse Campus Invasion was designed to connect with Nigerian youths, empower them with digital tools, and reward them for their energy and creativity. The three-day activation featured live performances, brand engagements, career talks, and interactive games that gave students direct access to opportunities in tech, content creation, and entrepreneurship.
The event, which attracted thousands of students to the university campus, also saw many undergraduates go home with valuable prizes, including refrigerators, microwaves, laptops, washing machines, smartphones, power banks, and several other gift items.
Speaking shortly after receiving the prize, the excited student said he was still struggling to believe his good fortune, describing the victory as a dream come true.
The winner thanked the telecommunications company for the life-changing opportunity and expressed his desire to become one of the brand’s ambassadors.
She said: “I have been using MTN for a long time and have always dreamed of becoming one of its ambassadors. Winning this car has strengthened that dream, and I hope MTN will one day give me the opportunity to represent the brand,” he said.

The Senior Manager, Segment Marketing (Youth, Women and Teens), MTN Nigeria, Temilolu Salako, said the annual experiential programme was designed to inspire young people to pursue their dreams with determination while assuring them of the company’s continued support.
Salako explained that this year’s edition, themed “Live It 100,” encourages students to give their best in every aspect of life, whether in academics, entrepreneurship, entertainment or other areas of personal development.
“The message behind this year’s theme is simple: whatever you choose to do, give it your 100 per cent. Whether it is your education, your business, your talent or your passion, we want young people to know that they can achieve their dreams by giving their very best.
“At MTN, we see ourselves as enablers. We are here to support young people every step of the way and provide opportunities that will help them actualise their aspirations.”
Salako noted that beyond entertainment, the campus invasion created an ecosystem where students could learn, network and promote their entrepreneurial ventures.
He explained that dedicated spaces were provided for student entrepreneurs and vendors to display and market their products, while several empowerment opportunities were made available through collaborations with MTN’s partners.
He described Nigerian youths as a reservoir of immense talent and creativity, stressing that the programme was designed to provide them with a platform to express themselves while remaining focused on their education.
According to him, “There are incredibly talented young people across our campuses. What we are doing is bringing them together to showcase what they love doing, have fun, stay committed to their studies and receive support in whatever way we can.
“That is why we have made available several exciting prizes, including refrigerators, microwaves, laptops, washing machines, phones, power banks and even a brand-new car. These gifts are our way of demonstrating that we genuinely care about the youth because they are extremely important to us as a brand.”
Salako added that university students represent the future workforce and leaders of the country, making investment in their growth a strategic priority for MTN Nigeria.
He explained that the EKSU edition followed a successful outing at Delta State University earlier in the year, adding that the company would continue its nationwide tour with visits to several other campuses before the end of the year.
Salako reaffirmed MTN Nigeria’s commitment to deepening its engagement with young Nigerians through initiatives that combine entertainment, innovation, entrepreneurship and empowerment, while encouraging students to continue believing in themselves and striving for excellence.
The President of the Students’ Union Government (SUG) of Ekiti State University (EKSU), Anjola Osunyomi, commended MTN Nigeria for bringing the programme to the institution, describing the initiative as a major boost to students’ social life, talent development and empowerment.
Osunyomi said the three-day activation went beyond entertainment, noting that the programme created meaningful opportunities for students through gift presentations, interactive activities and platforms that enabled young people to showcase their talents.
According to the SUG president, the initiative reflects the kind of partnership students desire from corporate organisations, adding that such engagements contribute significantly to a vibrant campus experience while inspiring students to pursue their creative potential.
He expressed delight that the MTN Pulse Campus Invasion was hosted during his tenure as SUG president and called on more corporate brands to partner with the university through similar student-focused programmes.
The engagement featured lots of Digital games, a Retail Village, a music rave, a cinema experience, and other opportunities designed to showcase the power of MTN 4G and 5G network through gaming, entertainment, and empowerment, among others, to drive an engaging environment for the Nigerian Youth.
It also affords student entrepreneurs with amazing products, services, or business ideas the opportunity to showcase their brands to thousands of students on campus.
