In a decisive move to address rising security concerns, the Golden Grand Patron of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) National, Sir Aare Adetola Emmanuelking, KOF, has called for a renewed and intensified commitment to community policing across Ogun State and Nigeria.
Emmanuelking made the call on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, while hosting the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Olubode Ojajuni, alongside PCRC leaders, traditional rulers, heads of security agencies, and key community stakeholders at a high-level Security Summit held in Remoland, Ogun State.
The summit, which drew a cross-section of influential voices in security and governance, served as a strategic platform to confront emerging threats and strengthen collaboration between the Nigeria Police Force and the communities they serve.
Addressing participants, Emmanuelking underscored the urgency of collective action in tackling crimes such as kidnapping, cultism, ritual killings, illegal arms trafficking, and cybercrime, stressing that security must not be left solely in the hands of law enforcement.
“Security is far too important to be left to the Police alone. Every citizen has a role to play in safeguarding our communities. This is the vision upon which the PCRC was founded,” he stated.
Reinforcing the PCRC’s guiding principle, “PCRC… Peace to the Nation,” the respected patron described the slogan as a call to action, urging stakeholders to embrace intelligence sharing, deepen trust, and actively support community policing initiatives as critical tools for sustainable peace.
Emmanuelking also commended the Inspector-General of Police for advancing the community policing agenda nationwide, while praising CP Olubode Ojajuni for his professionalism and proactive engagement with local communities in Ogun State.
The interactive summit featured robust exchanges between traditional rulers, community leaders, and security professionals, who engaged directly with the Commissioner of Police on pressing security challenges. Discussions focused on intelligence gathering, crime prevention strategies, and restoring public confidence in law enforcement institutions.
Participants unanimously agreed that only sustained collaboration among the Police, PCRC, traditional institutions, and the public can effectively curb crime and guarantee safety across the state.
The summit concluded with a renewed commitment by all stakeholders to strengthen partnerships, enhance intelligence networks, and build safer, more resilient communities throughout Ogun State and Nigeria.
