The Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, has threatened a N10 billion defamation lawsuit against Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi over allegations that allegedly linked him to murder, bribery, and other criminal conduct.
According to reports, Gbajabiamila’s legal team has issued a formal notice to Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, describing the claims as false, damaging, and without credible evidence. The lawyers argue that the allegations have caused serious harm to the Chief of Staff’s reputation and standing in public life.
The legal notice reportedly demands an immediate withdrawal of the statements, a public apology, and compensation for the reputational damage allegedly caused by the publication of the claims. It further warns that legal action seeking N10 billion in damages could be initiated if the demands are not met within the specified period.
Gbajabiamila, a former Speaker of the House of Representatives, maintains that he has no involvement in the criminal activities alleged against him and insists that the accusations are entirely unfounded.
The dispute has attracted public attention due to the prominence of the individuals involved and the substantial amount being sought in damages. Legal observers note that if the matter proceeds to court, both parties will be expected to present evidence in support of their respective positions.
As of the time of this report, Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi had not publicly responded to the legal threat or the demands reportedly made by Gbajabiamila’s lawyers.
The allegations remain contested, and no court has found Gbajabiamila liable for any of the claims referenced in the dispute. The case is therefore being treated as a civil defamation matter pending any further legal proceedings.
