The Chief Executive Officer of All On, Caroline Eboumbou, has said the company’s hackathon is designed to inspire and empower the next generation of clean energy innovators in Nigeria.
Eboumbou spoke on Wednesday during the “Decade of Impact: All On at 10 Hackathon,” saying the company had spent the past decade investing in people, businesses and partnerships aimed at expanding access to clean energy across the country. She described All On Partnerships for Energy Access as an impact investment company focused on supporting Nigeria’s energy access sector and creating opportunities for young innovators to develop practical solutions to energy challenges.
According to her, the hackathon reflects the company’s belief that the next decade of impact will be driven not only by investment but also by innovation, talent and leadership.The event brought together students from the University of Lagos, Lagos State University and Yaba College of Technology, among other institutions. Participants formed six multidisciplinary teams to develop and pitch solutions addressing challenges in healthcare, education, agriculture, fisheries, cold-chain logistics and productive energy use.
The teams were challenged to create solutions that were technically sound, commercially viable, financially sustainable and capable of delivering social impact.The “Current Creators” team emerged as the winner with ColdLink, a digital platform designed to improve renewable-powered cold-chain logistics through real-time monitoring, predictive analytics, fleet management and energy performance tracking.The organisers said the solution demonstrated how digital innovation could improve cold-chain operations and help reduce post-harvest losses.
