Twelve US soldiers suffered serious injuries in Iranian missile and drone attacks in Jordan and other countries during July, according to a US military official quoted by The New York Times.
The official said the injured troops were flown to a US military hospital in Germany for treatment. They are among around 100 US service members whom the Pentagon says have been injured in Iranian attacks since the beginning of July.
The official added that about 50 of those injuries were sustained during recent attacks on bases hosting US forces in Jordan.
The New York Times reported that US Central Command is not required to disclose information about injured service members, particularly if they return to duty quickly.
The official said the investigation into the attack on Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan, which killed three US soldiers and injured others, is still ongoing.
He also said a radar system at Ahmad Al Jaber Air Base in Kuwait was destroyed around 20 July, only six months after it became operational.
In addition, a warehouse at a naval facility in Bahrain was hit, while Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait sustained limited damage.
A large military tent at the US site inside Erbil International Airport in Iraq was also destroyed.
