INEC Extends PVC Collection In Osun As 322,822 Voters Pick Up Cards

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has announced the extension of the collection of Permanent Voter Cards at Registration Area level in Osun State to Friday, July 31, 2026.

The extension, according to a statement signed by the Head of Department, Voter Education, Publicity, Gender and Inclusivity, Ariyo Rufus, was to enable more eligible voters to collect their PVCs ahead of the August 15 governorship election.

The Commission also said 322,822 PVCs, representing 62% of the available cards, were collected during the first phase of distribution, held from Wednesday, July 22 to Tuesday, July 28, 2026.

The statement stated that the decision followed complaints and large crowds recorded at collection centres, as well as other difficulties encountered by voters.

“Having regard to complaints and large crowds at collection centres as well as other difficulties, the Commission has approved the extension of PVC collection at Registration Areas to Friday 31st July, 2026 to enable more eligible voters to exercise their civic right,” the statement said.

INEC added that the extension is without prejudice to collection at the Local Government Area level, which will now commence from Friday, August 1 to Friday, August 7, 2026.

The Commission urged concerned registered voters to take advantage of the window and collect their Permanent Voter Cards.
