Nigeria-Saudi Investment Summit To Boost Bilateral Trade, Investment – Dabiri-Erewa

ABUJA – The Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has said the forthcoming Nigeria-Saudi Diaspora Investment and Tourism Exhibition Summit will serve as a catalyst for stronger investment, trade and tourism relations between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.

Speaking through the Commission’s Secretary, Dr. Sule Yakubu Bassi, at a pre-summit media briefing in Abuja on Friday, Dabiri-Erewa said the event would address misconceptions about investing in both countries while highlighting emerging opportunities and practical solutions to existing challenges.

She recalled that the inaugural edition of the summit in 2019 attracted more than 30 Saudi companies and expressed confidence that this year’s event would further strengthen economic cooperation between the two nations.

The NiDCOM boss praised Al Yaro International Limited for consistently promoting investment opportunities and fostering business partnerships between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.

Also addressing journalists, Hon. Abdulrahman Terab, Head of the Department of Technology Transfer, Innovation and Investment, said the exhibition would expose participants to the investment potential of both countries and facilitate strategic business networking.

According to him, Nigeria and Saudi Arabia already enjoy strong diplomatic and cultural relations, but greater efforts are needed to convert those ties into more robust economic partnerships.

He said participants would explore investment opportunities across key sectors, including agriculture, real estate, technology transfer, trade and tourism, urging businesses and investors to take advantage of the platform.

One of the organisers, Muhammed Umar Yaro, announced that the exhibition would be held on August 4 and 5, 2026, at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja.

Yaro said the two-day summit is expected to attract over 100 exhibitors, about 5,000 visitors and participants from 20 investment sectors.

He added that discussions would focus on energy, agriculture, manufacturing, tourism and real estate, while creating opportunities for engagement between investors and policymakers.

He also thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima and the NiDCOM Chairman for supporting the initiative, expressing optimism that the second edition would further deepen Nigeria-Saudi economic relations.
