The management of Banana Island Estate has imposed a ₦3 million fine on anyone caught engaging in sexual activities at recreation centres and other public facilities within the estate.
The directive was contained in a notice issued to residents, following reports of what the management described as repeated incidents of indecent sexual acts involving both adults and minors at the Estate Recreation Centre and other public spaces.
According to the notice, the conduct has not only violated public decency but also resulted in damage to park benches and other recreational facilities.
The estate management said the ban covers all public areas, including the Children’s Playground, the Peace Garden and other recreational centres designed for residents and families.
It urged parents, guardians and all adult residents to caution their children, wards and themselves against engaging in such acts, stressing that the facilities are meant to promote recreation and community interaction.
The management disclosed that security personnel have been directed to intensify surveillance across the estate to ensure compliance with the directive.
It warned that, with immediate effect, anyone found engaging in sexual activities in any of the designated public areas would be liable to a ₦3 million fine.
The management appealed to residents to support the initiative, saying the measure is aimed at preserving the estate’s facilities and maintaining a safe, decent and family-friendly environment.
