The Emir of Bade in Yobe State, Alhaji Abubakar Umar Suleiman, on Sunday led Muslims in Bade Emirate in a special prayer for rain, seeking Allah’s mercy and abundant rainfall.
The prayer, which was attended by Islamic scholars, district heads, ward heads, community leaders, and a large gathering of residents, was aimed at seeking divine intervention for favourable rainfall, a bountiful harvest, and protection from drought and other calamities.
Special supplications were offered for Allah (SWT) to bless the land with rain, increase agricultural yield, bring prosperity, and safeguard the people.
The Emir urged the people to intensify worship, prayers, and repentance while also embracing unity and good conduct in order to attract the mercy of the Almighty.
He concluded with prayers for Allah to accept their supplications, send blessed rain, and grant peace and abundance to the land.
DAILY POST reports that many parts of Yobe State have been hit by a prolonged dry spell, affecting crop growth and raising serious concerns among the farming population in the state.
The lack of consistent rainfall in recent weeks has impacted staple crops such as millet, sorghum, and maize, with many farmers expressing concern that their harvests may be poor if the situation persists.
Agricultural experts warn that if the dry spell continues, it could lead to food insecurity and economic hardship for rural households that depend largely on farming.
