A Nigerian businesswoman has taken to social media to express her pain after allegedly losing ₦10 million she had been saving through a contribution scheme.
In an emotional video shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, the woman explained that the money was not intended for personal luxuries but was meant to help her expand her factory and take her business to the next level.
She said she had worked hard and made significant sacrifices to save the money, adding that she had been looking forward to receiving the funds when it became her turn.
In her words:
“I never knew a time would come when I would make this kind of video. For some people, the money might be small, but I know how hard I worked for it. This month was supposed to be my turn.
I was meant to receive ₦10 million. It wasn’t for a new car or a luxury lifestyle. It was for my factory. It was for my growth.”
The businesswoman further alleged that the coordinator of the contribution scheme failed to pay her after she had saved the money since last year.
According to her, the situation has left her devastated, particularly because the funds were earmarked for expanding her business. She also disclosed that the matter had been reported to the police, although she had yet to recover her money.
“Just like that, the ₦10 million I’ve been saving since last year was gone. The coordinator has not paid my money. The matter has been reported to the police, but I still haven’t recovered what belongs to me,” she added.
Her emotional account has attracted sympathy from social media users, with many expressing concern over her alleged loss.
Some Nigerians also used the incident to caution others about contribution schemes, urging people to carry out proper checks before entrusting large sums of money to coordinators.
Many have equally expressed hope that the businesswoman will be able to recover her ₦10 million and continue with her plans to grow her factory.
