2027: Northern Muslim Intellectual Forum Backs Tinubu’s 2nd Term

The Muslim Intellectual Forum members from the 19 northern states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, has passed a vote of confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership and endorsed his second-term bid.

The forum announced its position during a technical session and closed-door meeting held in Dutse, the capital of Jigawa State.

The closed-door meeting was attended by over 500 members of the forum, the Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin; the Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Political Affairs, Hon. Ibrahim Kabiru Masari; and the Minister of State for Housing, Hon. Dr. Muttaka Darma.

The event was also graced by Governors Umar Namadi of Jigawa State, Engr Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State, Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State, Uba Sani of Kaduna State, and Ahmad Aliyu of Sokoto State, as well as representatives of the governors of Kebbi and Katsina States, among others.

The Muslim Intellectual Forum, led by Sheikh Abdullahi Sale Pakistan, is a coalition of Islamic preachers, Juma’at imams, academics, and other Islamic scholars who deliver lectures and participate in various intellectual forums.

While reading the resolutions of the meeting to newsmen, the Minister of State for Housing, Dr. Muttaka Darma, stated that the forum reviewed the progress made in the North over the past three years in terms of public infrastructure provision, including roads, railways, education, water supply, health, and other public service deliveries.

The forum expressed satisfaction with President Tinubu’s efforts in promoting security, social stability, and the economic well-being of northern Nigeria and the country as a whole.

“After expressing satisfaction with the exemplary leadership of President Bola Tinubu, the forum has endorsed his second-term bid and urged all well-meaning Nigerians to support him for the achievement of a greater Nigeria,” the minister stated.
