AAU Inducts 172 Clinical Physiologists, Charges Graduates On Professional Excellence

Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, has inducted no fewer than 172 Clinical Physiology graduates into the Professional Association of Practising Clinical Physiologists of Nigeria (PAPCPN), charging the newly qualified professionals to uphold the highest standards of ethics, competence, and dedication in the discharge of their duties.

The induction and oath-taking ceremony, the first of its kind organised by the Department of Clinical Physiology, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, College of Medicine, covered graduates of the 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 academic sessions.

Declaring the occasion significant in the history of the university, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mrs Eunice Omonzejie, who was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Prof. Andrew Eromonsele, congratulated the graduates on their resilience and commitment throughout their academic journey.

The Vice-Chancellor also commended the Provost of the College of Medicine and his management team for their invaluable contributions to the growth and development of the institution. She urged the newly inducted Clinical Physiologists to justify the confidence reposed in them by the university and society through professionalism, integrity, and quality healthcare service delivery.

In his remarks, the Provost of the College of Medicine, Prof. Sunday Olowo Samuel, reminded the inductees of the enormous responsibility before them. “The Nigerian healthcare system needs you now more than ever. As a College, we are proud that Ambrose Alli University is contributing to filling this gap,” he said.

The President of the Professional Association of Practising Clinical Physiologists (PAPCPN), Prince Ugochukwu Okeke, described the induction as the beginning of a lifelong professional journey, urging the graduates to embrace continuous learning and professional development. “This induction is not your finish line; rather, it is your starting point. Your journey into practice demands continuous professional training,” he advised.

Delivering the keynote lecture, Prof. Alexander Obidike Naiho charged the newly inducted professionals to recognise the growing demand for their expertise within Nigeria’s healthcare sector and remain committed to delivering quality services capable of improving patient outcomes.

The ceremony was brought to a close soon after the administration of the professional oath on the 172 graduates, officially admitting them into the practice of Clinical Physiology and marking the commencement of their professional careers.
