Bobrisky blasts Nigerians over Kaycee Luxury’s arrest, calls it ‘hypocrisy’
Nigerian crossdresser and social media personality Bobrisky has criticised Nigerians who have been attacking luxury shopper Kaycee Luxury following his arrest by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) over an alleged ₦39 billion cocaine case.
Bobrisky shared his reaction on social media while addressing what he described as hypocrisy among Nigerians, particularly people who allegedly praised and associated with the luxury shopper before his arrest.
According to Bobrisky, some individuals who previously celebrated Kaycee Luxury suddenly became vocal critics after news of his arrest emerged.
He questioned why people who allegedly admired the suspect when he was successful and influential would quickly distance themselves once he encountered legal trouble.
“Nigerians are the biggest hypocrites. So many of you have a lot to say about KC Luxury now, but you couldn’t say any of it to his face before he got arrested,” Bobrisky wrote.
The controversial social media personality further alleged that some people were previously seeking Kaycee Luxury’s attention but changed their attitude immediately after his arrest.
“Many of you were busy kissing his ass before his arrest, but the moment he got arrested, you suddenly found your voices and opinions,” he added.
Bobrisky also suggested that envy could be one of the reasons some people allegedly changed their attitude towards the luxury shopper.
“Fear human beings o, especially men! If you think men don’t secretly envy each other, then you’re lying to yourself,” he stated.
While commenting on the controversy surrounding Kaycee Luxury, Bobrisky was careful to clarify that he was not claiming to be friends with the arrested luxury shopper.
He, however, said he believes people should not abandon their close friends simply because they have been accused of committing an offence.
According to Bobrisky, genuine friendship should allow a person to condemn an alleged wrongdoing while still showing personal support to the individual involved.
“I will never deny any of my friends regardless of his/her offense. I will condemn his act but still stand tall for him or her,” he said.
Bobrisky’s comments have sparked further reactions online, particularly amid the debate over friendship, loyalty, and accountability when someone becomes involved in a criminal investigation.
He questioned the decision of some people who allegedly associated closely with Kaycee Luxury to distance themselves following his arrest.
“I can see some of his friends denying him, what a pity,” Bobrisky wrote.
He added that people who did not personally know Kaycee Luxury could understandably react strongly to the allegations, but argued that close associates should not pretend they never knew him.
“I understand if you don’t know him or he’s not your friend, hearing that offense alone worth castigating him but his close friends naaaa,” he stated.
Bobrisky concluded his message by lamenting what he described as a decline in genuine friendships in modern society.
“2026 nobody dey get bestie again o,” he said.
Kaycee Luxury’s arrest has attracted significant attention on social media following reports linking him to an alleged cocaine-related investigation by the NDLEA.
The allegations against him have not yet been treated as a conviction, and any criminal case remains subject to due legal process.
Bobrisky’s intervention has consequently shifted part of the online conversation from the allegations themselves to questions about social media hypocrisy, celebrity friendships and loyalty during difficult times.
The controversy has also sparked discussions about whether friends and associates should distance themselves from people facing criminal allegations or remain supportive while allowing the legal system to determine the facts of the case.
As reactions continue to spread online, Bobrisky’s comments have added another layer to the ongoing conversation surrounding Kaycee Luxury’s arrest and the responsibilities of friends and associates when public figures face serious allegations.
