Drama In Jomoro As Dead Body Refuses Tomb And Resists Burial, ‘Fights’ With Family At The Cemetery
A video circulating widely on TikTok has drawn attention online after it appeared to show a coffin resisting burial during a funeral procession in a community identified as Magyena, in the Jomoro District, Western Region.
According to the video and accompanying captions, the deceased, said to be 23 years old, was being carried to the cemetery by about six pallbearers when the casket reportedly began pulling backwards, away from the burial site.
In the clip, onlookers are seen struggling with the coffin, and the caption claims that for every three steps forward, the group was pushed back four steps.
In the footage, mourners are seen pouring water on the coffin and along the road, a gesture the video’s captions describe as an attempt to plead with the deceased.
The clip has sparked a wave of comments and shares, with many social media users offering their own interpretations of what may have caused the scene, including suggestions that it relates to how the person died.
Incidents depicting coffins appearing to resist burial are gradually becoming a norm in our typical Ghanaian societies, especially when the deceased died an unnatural death.
