Businessman and cancer survivor Farooq Oreagba, popularly known as “Mr. Steeze,” has opened up about one of the lowest points in his life, revealing that although he became a dollar millionaire at the age of 30, he was working as a labourer in England just five years later.
Speaking on The Black Table with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Oreagba shared the lessons he learned about wealth, success and resilience, admitting that he struggled to let go of an extravagant lifestyle even after losing his banking job.
“I’d lost my job as a banker… The Porsches were still outside. I had my priorities wrong,” he recalled.
According to Oreagba, losing his source of income forced him to take on manual labour and other jobs in England as he tried to rebuild his life.
The businessman said the experience taught him that financial success can be temporary and that true wealth extends far beyond money or material possessions.
Reflecting on his journey, Oreagba noted that despite becoming a social media sensation after his iconic appearance at the 2024 Ojude Oba Festival, his outlook on life has remained unchanged.
He said his battle with cancer transformed his understanding of what truly matters, stressing that good health is more valuable than fame or fortune.
“You may have 99 problems, but the minute you have a health problem, you only have one problem,” he said.
Oreagba’s candid reflections have resonated with many Nigerians online, with social media users praising his honesty and describing his story as a powerful reminder that appearances can be deceiving.
