Award-winning Nigerian singer Simisola Kosoko, popularly known as Simi, has shared a glimpse of a special family celebration as she unveiled the name of her second child.

The singer took to Instagram on Sunday, August 9, 2026, to post photos from the dedication ceremony held for her son following a church service.

Simi and her husband, singer Adekunle Gold, welcomed their second child on March 10, 2026. The singer later confirmed the arrival publicly on April 1 through Instagram, where she shared maternity photos and expressed her gratitude to God for the new addition to their family.

Months after keeping details about the baby relatively private, Simi used the dedication celebration to reveal his full name as Adeifemi Oba Ajani Kosoko.

In her Instagram post, the mother of two described the child as the son of herself and Adekunle Gold and the younger brother of their first child, Adejare.

Simi accompanied the photos with an emotional prayer, committing her son’s life to God and asking for divine protection, good health, peace and joy.

She wrote:

We dedicated you in the name of the Father, The Son, And the Holy Spirit. You abide in the shelter of the Most High and dwell in the shadow of the Almighty. I bless God for you. I speak life, joy, good health, peace into your body, your mind, your spirit, your soul. I commit you into the hands of Jesus Christ. God keep you and cause His face to shine on you. I love you Fresh Prince. My lil Champ. My lil Pop. My baby boy 🩵💚

The post attracted a warm reaction from Adekunle Gold, who affectionately referred to Simi as “Mama Oba 💙in the comment section.

The Yoruba expression translates to “the King’s mother,” adding another sweet touch to the couple’s celebration of their growing family.
