Nigerian singer Flavour has opened up about battling a m@sturbation addiction for two years, revealing that the habit became so intense that he once used liquid soap before eventually overcoming it.

Speaking during a TikTok live session with friends, the award-winning singer said the addiction began after he lost his virginity and later lost contact with the woman involved. With no s+xual partner at the time, he turned to m@sturbation, but the habit worsened after a friend introduced him to Mapouka dance videos from Congo.

Flavour said the addiction lasted for about two years, leaving him ashamed and affecting his interactions with friends. He also disclosed that he sought help from his mother’s pastor, who prescribed a 21-day fast and prayer, but the addiction returned shortly after.

According to the singer, he later confided in a bassist he worked with, who believed the problem stemmed from his lack of regular s+xual activity. The bassist reportedly took him to a brothel and paid for him to have s+x with a woman there. Flavour said he subsequently spent part of the money he earned from playing musical instruments on weekly visits to brothels, a decision he claimed eventually helped him overcome the addiction.
