‘I like myself now’- Juma Jux Responds to Backlash Over Slimmer Look After Peller and Jarvis’ Wedding Appearance

  • Juma Jux has addressed the criticism surrounding his slimmer appearance after attending Peller and Jarvis’ wedding, saying he intentionally lost weight because he no longer liked having a bigger stomach.
  • The Tanzanian singer maintained that he is happy with his new look, adding that his focus is simply to stay healthy, successful and enjoy life.

Tanzanian singer Juma Jux has finally addressed the wave of reactions that followed his noticeably slimmer appearance at the star-studded wedding of Nigerian content creators Peller and Jarvis in Lagos.

The singer’s new physique quickly became a trending topic, with many fans expressing surprise and speculating about his weight loss.

Following the wedding, social media was flooded with comments, with some fans saying the singer looked “too slim,” while others questioned whether he was ill. The conversation gained momentum after videos from the event circulated online, making his appearance one of the talking points from the celebrity wedding.

Reacting to the criticism in a conversation with his wife, Priscilla Ojo, Juma Jux dismissed the concerns, explaining that losing weight was a personal decision.

In his words: “My stomach is bigger, and I don’t want to be like that. I like myself now. I just want to be rich and okay.”

His response has since divided social media users. While many applauded him for prioritising his health and body goals, others insisted they preferred his previous appearance, saying he looked better before the weight loss

In other news…. The Nigerian Army has reportedly arrested two serving soldiers over their alleged involvement in an unauthorised deployment during the wedding ceremony of content creators Peller and Jarvis in Lekki, Lagos.

According to SaharaReporters, the soldiers were arrested on Tuesday after intelligence indicated they had provided security at the celebrity event without official approval.

Military sources identified the personnel as Private Onasanya Ifeoluwa and Private Ukpai Onyinyechi, both attached to the 81 Division Medical Services and Hospital (81DMSH), Obalende, Lagos.

The report stated that preliminary investigations are ongoing to determine the extent of their involvement and whether other military personnel participated in the alleged unauthorised deployment.

The arrests followed the circulation of videos from the wedding showing uniformed soldiers managing crowds and escorting guests. One of the clips that attracted attention allegedly showed a soldier escorting TikTok personality Ivanna through the venue.

The Nigerian Army maintains that serving personnel are prohibited from undertaking private security duties or participating in deployments without official authorisation. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
