Nigerian street-pop singer Portable has explained the reason behind his frequent call-outs of some of the country’s biggest music stars, including Olamide, Wizkid and Davido.

The controversial singer made the statement while speaking about the support emerging artistes receive from established musicians in the industry.

According to Portable, his public criticism of some top artistes is not necessarily driven by hatred. He claimed that he sometimes calls them out because he wants to get closer to them or benefit from their influence.

“If you see me drag Olamide, the reason is because I want to chill with him. If you see me drag Wizkid, I want to chill with him. If you see me drag Davido, I want to spend his money. Davido, Burna boy, Olamide and Wizkid are trying; they blow people up, but Fuji Artistes like K1 De Ultimate, Pasuma and Osupa Saheed aren’t lifting Fuji underground artistes up.” he said

Portable went on to praise Davido, Burna Boy, Olamide and Wizkid for their contributions to the growth of other artistes.
